Bridge the Gap Malvern Limited is a specialist Alternative Provision for 16-25yr old students who have an EHCP and need a different approach to post 16 education.


Our goal is to help students to build the skills needed for independence and employment.


Each student has a named Transition Coordinator who supports them with a collaborative, flexible approach based on positive relationships, trust and unconditional positive regard; building a unique programme for each individual around their specific needs and interests.



Bridge the Gap Malvern is a Skills Builder Partnership Impact Organisation, supporting students to recognise and evidence their progress in developing the essential skills of the Skills Builder Universal Framework, with an initial focus on Self Management and Communication skills.



Some of the experiences and activities that may be included in a student’s programme:

  • Building positive relationships
    • e.g. relaxed 1:1 sessions with Transition Coordinator (chatting/games/fun activity)
  • Therapeutic support
    • e.g. SALT, counsellor/therapist/psychologist sessions, art therapy, music therapy
  • Opportunities to Learn Skills
    • e.g. cooking, driving, budgeting & shopping, hygiene, doing laundry, a language, an instrument, art/photography
  • Health and Wellbeing activities
    • walking, gym, mindfulness activities, self care
  • Educational visits
    • National Trust/English Heritage, new experiences, local community engagement
  • Academic Learning
    • e.g. towards Functional Skills or other relevant qualifications
  • Employability
    • e.g. work experience placements, volunteering, writing a CV, support with applications, interview practice
